We are located in the foothills of Perth, Western Australia, however we do not have a shop front.
Yes, because our model windmills come in a kit form, for an extra charge, we can send them pretty well anywhere in Australia and can deliver with in Perth, WA. Please contact us for more information.
We accept all bank deposit, cash and major credit/debit cards. Through Square, we can also offer AfterPay.
The height that water can be pumped is limited by the riser pipe above the pump. The water once pumped can be gravity fed as required within your water feature.
There isn't any ongoing maintenance required as the windmill uses sealed bearings within the head and other moving parts are made from self lubricating plastics.
If you have a pumping windmill as long as the pump is constantly pumping clean water there will be no ongoing maintenance required. (due to the possibility of debris being present in the water there is a pump troubleshooting section provided with each windmill.)
All Windhill model windmills can be upgraded to a pumping model.
Yes, you can buy an assembled model, there are extra labour charges for this.
Yes, functionally the Windhill model windmills operate are the same as any traditional windmill.
Windmills function by pumping from a water source (such as; a deep underground aquifer (bore), well, or dam), using specially designed blades that catch the wind. The fan (windwheel), which is fixed to an axis, turns to face the wind as directed by the tail moving with the breeze, maximizing pumping efficiency.
The wheel's mechanism drives a geared system (or is directly driven by a crank), creating an up-and-down motion in the pump rod within a bore or well or to a surface pump mounted inside the windmill tower. Each upstroke lifts water up the pipe, while a valve prevents water from returning during the downstroke. The pumped water is directed to an elevated water tank or tank stand, enabling gravity-fed distribution to troughs or homes.
